Melody has taught piano to undergraduate and non-major graduate students at Yale University and the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She is currently on the faculty of Elizabethtown College, PA, where she teaches Applied Piano, Theory, Piano Ensemble, and Class Piano. Additionally, she serves as piano faculty at Levine Music, DC. and the Community College of Baltimore County.
Melody has been invited to present masterclasses internationally, for example to students and teachers at the Yamaha Canada Summer Camp and at the Medan Music School in Medan, Indonesia. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association as an adjudicator and conference panelist.
While doing her Masters in Piano Performance at The Juilliard School, she had the opportunity to study piano pedagogy with Paul Sheftel, a leader in keyboard studies and composer of piano works for children.
Melody successfully completed the Yamaha Teacher's Level examinations at the age of 12.
